Carine played a key role in helping the Lyons win four straight NEW 8 Regular Season and Tournament Championships. During her time Wheaton, the softball program won an NCAA Tournament Northeast Regional Championship, finishing third in the NCAA College World Series her senior year (1997). Individually, Carine was a three-time NEW 8 All-Conference athlete and was named the NEW 8 Player of the Year in 1997. Carine was also named the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) New England Player of the Year (1997). She earned several all-region honors during her career, capping it off with a National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-America accolade in 1997. Wheaton’s 1997 Debi Field Award recipient, Carine can still be found in the record books for Wheaton and NCAA Division III. Carine’s 190 career runs are tied for 15th in all of NCAA Division III softball and are still first all-time at Wheaton. Her 72 runs in 1997 put her at fourth all-time in runs in a season at Wheaton. Her impressive batting statistics land her fifth all-time in batting average (.446), hits (225), home runs (18), walks (49), and slugging percentage (.687), all-time in triples (10), total bases (346), and RBIs (119); and third all-time in doubles (47) and on-base percentage (.516). Carine’s three career grand slams are second-most in program history, and she owns the school hit by pitch record, after being hit 23. Nationally, Carine is tied 18th in stolen bases in NCAA Division III history, which is second best at Wheaton (111). Her 51 stolen bases during the 1997 season place her 10th in the NCAA record books, while her six stolen bases in a single game that same season rank her third all-time in NCAA history as well. Just as impressive on the field as she was at bat or on base, Carine remains fifth all-time in assists at Wheaton, with 272.
