Dina Terceira is arguably the greatest catcher to ever play at Wheaton. The backstop was an integral part of a Lyon softball team that posted a 146-41-1 (.779) record, while winning three conference championships and making three NCAA Tournament appearances, including a third place national finish in 1997 following a school-record 45-7 season. Terceira was a three-time National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-America selection, being named to the First Team in 1999, the Second Team in 1998 and the Third Team in 1997. She established herself as one of the region's best players from game one, earning NEW 8 Rookie of the Year honors and being named NFCA All-New England all four years in addition to earning All-Conference accolades in every season. Tereica's name can be found in the top five of 13 offensive categories in the Wheaton record book. She owns the career mark for doubles with 69 and triples with 15, while ranking second with 283 hits, 204 runs batted in and 445 total bases. The two-time Captain stands third in games played (187) and runs scored (167) and her lifetime .462 (283-612) batting average and career .727 slugging percentage both place her third in school annals. Terceira is also fifth in on-base percentage (.499) and home runs (21) and holds the single-season school mark for triples with six. In addition to her on field achievement, the Political Science major was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-America Third Team and was given an NFCA Scholar Award. Terceira closed her career at Wheaton by being named the Debi Field Athlete of the Year.
