Beth Castagno earned All-America status six times, including twice in the indoor high jump and twice in the outdoor high jump during her two seasons at Wheaton. The New Jersey native won the high jump at the 2000 NCAA Outdoor National Championship after finishing second at the NCAA Indoor Championship during the same season. Her jump of 5'10" 3/4" indoors was good enough to qualify for the USA Indoor National Championships in Atlanta, GA. She was the New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference Champion in the high jump at both the 1999 and 2000 outdoor title meets. Castagno finished third in both the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Championships as a junior and helped the Lyons win their first and second national titles with wins in the 1999 and 2000 NCAA Indoor Championships to go with a runner-up finish at the 1999 NCAA Outdoor Championship and a third-place showing at the 2000 NCAA national meet. Castagno won high jump titles at nine different meets during her time with Wheaton and added a pair of runner-up showings at the New England Indoor Championship as well as the 2000 New England Outdoor title meet. The two-time All-Conference honoree also holds both the indoor and outdoor school records in the high jump for both Wheaton College and Gettysburg College. Following her distinguished collegiate career, she competed for ten years as a professional high jumper qualifying for the 2004 and 2008 USA Olympic Team Trials, participated in numerous USA Indoor and Outdoor Championships and competed in nine different countries.
