The first All-American in thehistory of Wheaton athletics, Kelly was a defensive cornerstone forthe field hockey team from 1982–85 and women’s lacrosseteam from 1983-86. Kelly earned College Field Hockey CoachesAssociation (CFHCA) All-America honors in 1983 to go along withall-region accolades from 1983–85. Kelly, who also was namedan MAIAW All-Star, claimed the Wheaton College Female Athlete ofthe Year award in 1986. She holds a rare honor in Wheaton athleticshistory as she played for the first team to reach the NCAATournament in 1983 (field hockey) and the first team ever toadvance to NCAA Final Four in 1986 (lacrosse). Kelly’s 8.07career goals against average (GAA) in lacrosse still ranks firstall-time in the women’s lacrosse record book.
