Oscar Medina was one of the early building blocks for the prolific success that the Wheaton men's soccer program would experience for years to come. The midfielder became the first All-America selection not just for the men's soccer program, but of any male student-athlete in Wheaton history when he was selected to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-America team in 1996. In addition to this incredible achievement, Medina was also a two-time NSCAA All-New England honoree, being named in both 1995 and 1996. During his tenure in Norton, the former Captain helped the Lyons turn in an impressive 54-17-10 (.728) record, while earning four consecutive trips to the ECAC Tournament, including an appearance in the Championship match in 1994. Wheaton won 12 or more games in each of his four campaigns. The International Relations major is still etched in the school's all-time record book, ranking fifth in career assists with 26 and eighth with 78 points, while sharing the school standard for assists in a game with three. The Colombian-born and Texas native received acknowledgement for his athletic prowess as Wheaton's Male Athlete of the Year recipient in both 1996 and 1997 and added the 1997 Dean Sue Alexander Senior Student-Athlete Award to his mantle.
