WESTFIELD, Mass. – Junior Anika Wagner (Elmore, Vt.) won the hammer throw to lead the Wheaton College (Mass.) women's track & field team today at the Jerry Gravel Invitational hosted by Westfield State University at the Jerry Gravel Track in Westfield, Mass.
Wagner recorded a toss of 47.05 meters for the Lyons in the hammer throw. She also led Wheaton in the shot put with a heave of 9.94 meters to place fourth, while notching a distance of 26.30 to finish fifth in the discus throw.
First year Maezy Gleason (Scarborough, Maine) registered a mark of 25.44 meters to place sixth in the discus for Wheaton, while unleashing a heave of 9.38 meters to finish seventh in the shot put. Senior Madison King (Wethersfield, Conn.) posted a personal-record distance of 28.97 meters in the hammer throw to place 11th for the Lyons and was also 11th in the shot put with a heave of 8.92 meters.
Wheaton returns to the track on Friday, April 18 when it travels to Atlanta, Ga. to compete in the Georgia Tech Invitational.
