WALTHAM, Mass. - The Wheaton College men's tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision against the Brandeis University Judges on Thursday.
Making up the match that was postponed from the week prior, Wheaton kicked off the event in doubles. Senior David Gassen and first-year Jeremiah Ryser fell 8-3 in the No. 1 spot while senior Will White and junior Alden Zeff dropped 8-1 at No. 2. Senior Shreve Archer and sophomore Tyler Butler were posted at the No. 3 spot and fell 8-2 with first-year Nick Hotary and sophomore Alvaro de Landaluce closing out the No. 4 slot, missing 8-0.
Gassen opened singles action for the Lyons in the No. 1 spot, but ultimately fell 7-5, 6-1. Wheaton was unable to get the jump on Brandeis for the remaining match as the Judges secured the sweep.
Wheaton returns to the courts on Sunday where they battle Trinity (Conn.) with match time slated for 1 p.m.
