GILBERT, Ariz. – Wheaton College (Mass.) men's tennis players, David Anghinetti (Rehoboth, Mass.), Paul Berteaux (Paris, France), Jake Murray (San Diego, Calif.), Calvin Van Dyke (Albuquerque, N.M.) and Landon Wyshner (Winston Salem, N.C.) were named Intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar-Athletes in addition to the Lyons being tabbed an All-Academic Team by the ITA.
All student-athletes earning Scholar-Athlete recognition must have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year and be listed on the institutional eligibility form. The five honorees for Wheaton match the program's school-record total from 2023, which was the most for the program since 2014. Three or more Lyons have been honored for the award in each of the last four years.
To earn All-Academic Team status, all programs must attain a cumulative team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale), which must include all varsity letter winners on the roster.
Wheaton recorded an impressive 3.37 team GPA for the 2025-26 academic year.
Thain earns the honor for the third straight year to become the first Lyon to make the claim since Ned Terrace '14 was selected for the fourth time in 2014. Berteaux, Murray and Van Dyke are repeat honorees.
Anghinetti recorded an 0-4 singles ledger for the Lyons. The sophomore Business major compiled an 0-3 mark in doubles action as well.
Berteaux tied for the team lead with a 10-4 singles record, including 7-4 at fourth singles. The junior won his only singles contests at number two, three and five singles. The Parisian owned a 6-9 mark in doubles play for a combined record of 16-13. An International Business major, Berteaux won five straight singles matches from March 8-28.
Murray posted an 8-5 singles mark and was especially outstanding at sixth singles, where he recorded a 4-1 record. The junior Business major was 4-12 in doubles action with a pair of wins coming at number two.
Van Dyke closed out the season by winning four straight singles matches as part of an 8-10 singles effort, including a sparkling 4-1 at fifth singles. The junior Biochemistry major recorded five wins in 16 contests in doubles play as well.
Wyshner enjoyed a tremendous rookie campaign for Wheaton, putting together a 13-5 singles record with all but one match at number three in dual match play. The first year Business major registered an 8-11 mark in doubles play at the number one spot to give him a combined record of 21-16 to lead the squad in combined victories.
The Lyons finished the season with an 8-7 season record, including 3-3 in conference play, for the highest total of dual match victories since the 2018-19 campaign.
