Men's Tennis Matches School Mark with Four Named to NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Team

MARLBOROUGH, Mass. – Wheaton College (Mass.) men's tennis players David Anghinetti (Rehoboth, Mass.), Paul Berteaux (Paris, France), Jack Thain (Aberdeen, Scotland) and Calvin Van Dyke (Albuquerque, N.M.) were named to the New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Academic All-Conference team, it was announced by the league.

Honorees must have met the following criteria: earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 scale or 4.35/5.0 scale after the 2025 fall semester, achieved second year academic status at their institution, and been a member of the varsity team for the entire season.

The total of honorees matches the most in program history for the Lyons, mirroring the count from both 2009 and 2010 when Wheaton also boasted four selections.

Berteaux, Thain and Van Dyke all earn the accolade for the second year, while Anghinetti earned the distinction in his first year of eligibility for the honor.

Berteaux tied for the team lead with a 10-4 singles record, including 7-4 at fourth singles. The junior won his only singles contests at number two, three and five singles. The Parisian owned a 6-9 mark in doubles play for a combined record of 16-13. An International Business major, Berteaux won five straight singles matches from March 8-28.

Thain was 2-3 in singles play, including 1-1 at both fifth and singles. The junior Biology major posted a 3-2 mark in doubles play and was undefeated at the number two spot, while closing out the year with a two-match win streak.

Van Dyke closed out the season by winning four straight singles matches as part of a 6-8 singles effort, including a sparkling 4-1 at fifth singles. The junior Biochemistry major recorded four wins in 13 contests in doubles play as well.

Anghinetti recorded an 0-2 singles ledger for the Lyons. The sophomore xx major compiled an 0-2 mark in doubles action as well.

Wheaton finished the season with an 8-7 season record, including 3-3 in conference play, for the highest total of dual match victories since the 2018-19 campaign.
