BRISTOL, R.I. – The Wheaton College women's swimming and diving team dropped, 182-108 against Roger Williams University on Friday.
The Lyons claimed second place in the 400-yard medley relay to open the meet. Kelley Baylis, Rowan Rice, Aleza Epstein and Courtney Leach clocked in at 4:11.78, right behind the first place Roger Williams group.
In the 200-yard freestyle, Wheaton grabbed second, third and fourth place from Rebecca Idman (2:02.40), Epstein (2:03.11) and Tayla Slater (2:03.21). Continuing on in the 100-yard breaststroke, Leach collected second place for the Lyons with a final time of 1:12.94. Rice followed in fourth place at 1:14.43 and Emily Reynolds right behind her in fifth at 1:15.03.
Battling head-to-head in the 50-yard freestyle, Wheaton was able to receive three places in the top five from Epstein (25.93), Kelsey Meyer (25.94) and Slater (26.11).
Jenna Hayden was the top finalist in the 100-yard freestyle for the Lyons and she tapped in 56.25. Idman followed her in third place with a final of 57.51. She went on to place first in the 100-yard butterfly with a final of 1:00.91.
On the diving side, Katherine Conway (196.10) and Tori Popstein (174.65) placed second and third in the one-meter dive. In the three meter dive, Conway wrapped up with a final of 197.20 and Popstein sealed 174.55.
Wheaton is home on Saturday as they take on Keene State and Springfield College at 1 p.m.
