Vaughan Named Scholar of Distinction and to USFCA All-Academic Team

NORTON, Mass. – Wheaton College (Mass.) women's fencing team member Norah Vaughan (Hope Hull, Ala.) was named to the United States Fencing Coaches Association All-Academic Team in addition to being chosen a Scholar of Distinction, it was announced by the USFCA.

To qualify for the All-Academic Team, competitors must have competed for one academic year and earned a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.3. Scholars of Distinction must have achieved a GPA of at least 3.7. 

Vaughan was selected as a Scholar of Distinction and named to the All-Academic Team for the second straight year.  

The sophomore Business & Management and Visual Art major was previously named to the NFC Women's Fencing Academic All-Conference Team. Vaughan was also named a Second Team All-American by the United States Fencing Coaches Association. The Evangel Christian School product placed 26th at the Regional Championship for Wheaton and posted a 67-29 (.698) record for the year.

The Lyons finished the year with a 0-29 dual match record in their second year of competition.
