Bausemer, Vang Named to Division III USA Artistic Swimming Collegiate Novice Team

STANFORD, Calif. — Wheaton College (Mass.) artistic swimmers Gabrielle Bausemer (Plainville, Mass.) and Autumn Vang (Stillwater, Minn.) were named to the USA Artistic Swimming Division III Collegiate Novice Team, it was announced by USA Artistic Swimming.

This is the first year that USA Artistic Swimming has recognized a Collegiate Novice Team. The team recognizes first-year collegiate athletes who have made an immediate impact through their commitment, growth, and performance. These individuals represent the future of the sport, demonstrating dedication, resilience, and a strong foundation for continued success at the collegiate level.

Vang won the D Figures title at the US Collegiate Championship at Stanford University on March 27-28 with a season-high total of 56.8622 points. The first year's first-place effort in the event was a repeat of her performance that earned her the crown in the D Figures at the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championship at Stanford on February 14-15. The Stillwater Synchro product earned runner-up showings in the D Figures at the East Regional Championship in Norton, Mass. on February 28 and the New England Synchronized Swimming Association Figures competition in Norton on November 16.

Bausemer also won a pair of D Figures titles during the season. The first year placed third in the category at the US Collegiate Championship. The Business major finished first in the D Figures at the East Regional Championship with a season-best 55.8044 points in addition to winning the D Figures at the NESSA competition. Bausemer also placed second in the D figures at the MPSF Championship. The Lyonfish Artistic Swimming product combined with her sister, sophomore Sierra Bausemer (Plainville, Mass.) to finish second in the duet at the East Regional Championship with a season-high tally of 106.8150 points and the pair placed second in the Wheaton Invitational on February 22 in Norton.

The Lyons placed third at the MPSF Championship as a team for their highest finish ever and also placed fifth at the US Collegiate Championship. Wheaton won the East Regional title for the 11th straight year.
