WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The Wheaton College (Mass.) 4X100-meter relay team placed first to lead the women's track & field team today on the final day of the Farley Inter Regional Extravaganza at Lee Track on host Williams College's campus in Williamstown, Mass.
Seniors Wendy Wooden (Sharon, Mass.), Michaina Loriston (Boston, Mass.), junior Camille Connors (Woburn, Mass.) and senior Kate Wickenheisser (Oxford, Conn.) combined to post a winning time of 46.97 in the 4X100-meter relay for the Lyons.
Wheaton senior Kristen DiBella (Boston, Mass.) placed fourth in the 400-meter hurdles and improved on her own time, which ranks as the seventh-fastest in school history at 1:04.55.
Senior Anika Wagner (Elmore, Vt.) led the Lyons in the field events with a toss of 47.50 meters to place sixth in the hammer throw, while junior Anna Bolster (Marcellus, N.Y.) was eighth in the long jump with a leap of 5.09 meters.
Sophomore Reilly Hickey (Medford, Mass.) finished 10th with the sixth-highest mark in program history after posting a mark of 3654 points in the heptathlon for Wheaton. She recorded a personal-record time of 2:36.71 in the 800 meters to place ninth among heptathletes and was ninth in both the long jump with a leap of 4.79 meters and the javelin throw with a toss of 18.98 meters.
Junior Lauren Hinckley (Niantic, Conn.) placed 11th in the triple jump for the Lyons with a leap of 10.34 meters and was 18th in the 400 meters on a time of 28.24. Junior Maya Thomas (Goffstown, N.Y.) led Wheaton in the 400 meters with a clip of 27.63 to place 16th.
Junior Natalie Shaw (Belchertown, Mass.) turned in a personal-record time of 1:02.91 to place 21st in the 400 meters for the Lyons and sophomore Eva Garofano (Barrington, R.I.) was 25th to lead Wheaton in the discus throw with a toss of 29.91 meters.
The Lyons compete again on Wednesday, May 13 when they travel to Rock Island, Ill. to compete in the Augustana Twilight Qualifier.
