SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Senior Anika Wagner (Elmore, Vt.) finished seventh in the hammer throw to lead the Wheaton College (Mass.) women's track & field team today at the New England Division III Outdoor Championship at host Springfield College's Blake Track in Springfield, Mass.
Wagner posted a toss of 48.19 meters for the Lyons.
Wheaton senior Michaina Loriston (Boston, Mass.) placed second in the 100-meter preliminaries to qualify for tomorrow's finals.
Junior Anella Bolster (Marcellus, N.Y.) finished ninth in the long jump for the Lyons with a leap of 5.48 meters, which ranks as the sixth-fastest time in school history. Sophomore Chloe Vescio (Douglas, Mass.) placed 10th in the 5000 meters with a mark of 18:25.78.
Sophomore Reilly Hickey (Medford, Mass.) clocked in at 16.84 to finish 28th in the preliminaries of the 100-meter hurdles for Wheaton.
The Lyons return to Springfield tomorrow to compete on the final day of the championship.
