Women's Track & Field Receives USTFCCCA All-Academic Team Award; School-Record Four Named All-Academic Athletes

NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Wheaton College (Mass.) women's track and field team received All-Academic Team accolades, while junior Camille Connor (Woburn, Mass.) and seniors Anika Wagner (Elmore, Vt.), Kate Wickenheisser (Oxford, Conn.) and Wendy Wooden (Sharon, Mass.) were named All-Academic Athletes by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, it was announced by the USTFCCCA.

Teams must meet the following criteria to be recognized by the USTFCCCA: A team must maintain a minimum 3.1 cumulative team grade point average on a 4.0 scale from the 2025-26 academic year through the most recent semester/quarter of all student-athletes who used a season of eligibility.

The Lyons posted a team GPA of 3.46 to earn All-Academic Team honors for the eighth straight year and 10th time in the last 11 seasons. 

Wheaton's total of honorees matches the school-record of four and marks the third time in program history and the first time since 2017 that a quartet of Lyons have been recognized. 

Here is the criteria to be named an All-Academic Athlete: A student-athlete must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale through the most recently completed grading period, while also meeting one of the following athletic criteria: They must have finished the season among the top 50 individuals as listed on the descending order lists on TFRRS. In addition, any athletes not among the top 50, but who participated at the Indoor or Outdoor National Championships, are eligible. Also, a student-athelete must have competed as a member of one of the top 35 relay teams as listed on the descending order list on TFRRS. In addition, any athletes not among the top 35 relay teams, but who participated in the relay at the Indoor or Outdoor National Championships, are eligible. Finally, any competing relay team member on an expanded descending order list to include 35 institutions (1 relay team per institution) is eligible.

Connors was a member of Wheaton's vaunted 4X100-meter relay that finished eighth at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championship on xx. The xx major earned All-America First Team status and also posted the 35th-fastest time in the region in the 200 meters.

Wagner posted the eighth-best throw in the hammer throw in the region with a heave of 48.33 meters at the Jaylin Rainford Invitational on March 27. The xx major also recorded the 43rd-best figure in the discus for the region.

Wickenheisser was also part of the Lyons' 4X100 relay team as the anchor for the group. The xx major earned First Team All-America accolades and etched the East region's 33rd-fastest time in the 400-meter hurdles at the Tufts Spring Stampede on April 10. 

Wooden was a member of Wheaton's 4X100 relay as well and received First Team All-America designation. The xx major ran the 26th-fastest time in the region in the 100 meters at the Sean Collier Invitational on April 17 and also owned the 36th fastest mark in the 200 meters.    

The Lyons finished 35th as a team at the NCAA Outdoor Championship and was sixth at the NEWMAC Championship.
