Men's Lacrosse Places Seven on NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Team

MARLBOROUGH, Mass. — Wheaton College (Mass.) men's lacrosse players Connor Almstrom (Cumberland, R.I.), Jack Board (Westborough, Mass.), Chris Bodnaruk (Andover, Mass.), Evan Borchert (Denver, Colo.), Connor Davine (Taunton, Mass.), John Drew (North Andover, Mass.), Lucas Mehlhorn (South Portland, Maine), Mitch Tepedino (Southbury, Conn.) and Ethan Upham (Brunswick, Maine) were named to the New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference Men's Lacrosse Academic All-Conference team, it was announced by the league.

Honorees must have met the following criteria: earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 scale or 4.35/5.0 scale after the 2024 fall semester, achieved second year academic status at their institution, and been a member of the varsity team for the entire season.

Board and Drew earn the honor for the third straight year, while Almstrom is tabbed in back-to-back campaigns for the Lyons.

Board is a senior Economics and Business & Management double major. A graduate of Westborough High School, Board saw action in all 15 games and ranked fifth on the squad with 14 goals to go with eight assists. Almstrom is a senior Accounting major. The Cumberland High School product was seventh among conference leaders with a .531 save percentage, while leading the league with 13.13 saves per contest. Drew is a senior Business & Management major. The North Andover High School graduate saw time in five matches for Wheaton and posted a 13.53 goals against mark in addition to a .538 save percentage. 

Bodnaruk is a sophomore Nursing major. The Andover High School grad served as the Lyons' primary face-off specialist and won 156 draws at a 46% success rate, while picking up a team-high 48 ground balls in 15 contests. Mehlhorn is a sophomore Business & Management major. A graduate of South Portland High School, Mehlhorn appeared in 14 games, while notching a goal, three ground balls and a caused turnover. Tepedino is also a sophomore Business & Management major. The Pomperaug High School product tallied 12 points in 13 matches, including nine goals and added 14 ground balls and four caused turnovers. Upham is a senior Business major for Wheaton. The Brunswick High School graduate managed to appear in four contests, despite battling injury during the season.

The Lyons finished the season with a 7-8 record, including a 1-6 mark in conference play.
