YPSILANTI, Mich. — Wheaton College (Mass.) artistic swimmer Olivia Macdonald (Toronto, Ont.) was named to the USA Artistic Swimming All-America Honorable Mention Team, it was announced by USA Artistic Swimming.
Macdonald was named an All-American last season as well and becomes just the second two-time All-America selection and the first for the Lyons since Kayla Moses '15 was chosen in 2012 and 2013.
Macdonald finished 10th in the Collegiate Solo with a count of 138.3813 points in addition to a 12th-place showing in the A Figures at the USA Artistic Swimming National Collegiate Championship on March 28-29 in Ypsilanti, Mich. at host Eastern Michigan University. The sophomore paired with classmate Renée Goldfinger (Hoboken, N.J.) to finish eighth in the Duet with a mark of 150.5517 points. Macdonald finished fifth in the solo at the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championship on February 15-16 at Wheaton's Balfour Natatorium and was sixth in the A Figures. She and Goldfinger also placed seventh in the duet in the meet. A product of Team Granite Artistic Swimming Club, Macdonald captured both the Solo and A Figures titles at the Regional Championship meet on March 1 in Norton, Mass. She paired with Goldfinger to win the duet at the title meet as well.
The Lyons placed fifth as a team at the National Collegiate Championship, fourth at the MPSF Championship and won the Eastern Regional crown for the 10th straight time.
