Goldfinger, Halberg, Macdonald Named to USA Artistic Swimming Division III All-Collegiate Team

YPSILANTI, Mich. — Wheaton College (Mass.) artistic swimmers Renée Goldfinger (Hoboken, N.J.), Hannah Halberg (New York City, N.Y.) and Olivia Macdonald (Toronto, Ont.) were named to the USA Artistic Swimming Division III All-Collegiate Team, it was announced by USA Artistic Swimming.

The Lyons tally of three honorees marks the first time since 2018 and 2019 that Wheaton has had three All-Collegiate swimmers in consecutive seasons. 

Goldfinger led the Lyons in the Collegiate Solo at the USA Artistic Swimming National Collegiate Championship in Ypsilanti, Mich. on March 29 with an eighth place finish after scoring 142.0813 points. The sophomore also placed 12th in the B Figures with a mark of 72.4116. Goldfinger placed second in the Solo and won the B figures at the East Regional Championship on March 1 in Norton, Mass. The Imagine Synchro standout added a fifth-place effort in the B Figures at the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championship on February 15-16. 

Macdonald finished 10th in the Solo with a count of 138.3813 points in addition to a 12th-place showing in the A Figures at the Collegiate Championship. The sophomore paired with Goldfinger to finish eighth in the Duet with a mark of 150.5517 points. Macdonald finished fifth in the solo at the MPSF Championship and was sixth in the A Figures. She and Goldfinger also placed seventh in the Duet. A product of Team Granite Artistic Swimming Club, Macdonald captured both the Solo and A Figures titles at the Regional Championship meet. She paired with Goldfinger to win the Duet at the title meet. 

Halberg finished 15th in the B Figures at the Collegiate Championship and joined Goldfinger and Macdonald to help Wheaton claim a 10th-place effort in the Team category. The senior placed second in the B Figures at the Regional Championship and combined with junior Josephine Basco (Painsville, Ohio) and senior Marina Greenwood (Santa Cruz, Calif.) to top the trio field for the win. Halberg placed eighth in the B Figures at the MPSF Championship and teamed with Greenwood and first year Paige Warda (Auburn, Calif.) to finish eighth in the Duet. 

The Lyons placed fifth as a team at the National Collegiate Championship, fourth at the MPSF Championship and won the Eastern Regional crown for the 10th straight time.
