Five from Artistic Swimming Named to MPSF All-Academic Team

NORTON, Mass. – Wheaton College (Mass.) artistic swimmers Josephine Basco (Painesville, Ohio), Renée Goldfinger (Hoboken, N.J.), Marina Greenwood (Santa Cruz, Calif.), Scout Lowrie (Franklin, N.J.) and Olivia Macdonald (Toronto, Ont.) were named to the 2025 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Artistic Swimming All-Academic Team, it was announced by the MPSF.

Honorees must have met the following criteria: earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 after the 2024 fall semester, achieved second year academic status at their institution, been a member of the varsity team for the entire season and competed in fifty percent or more of the institution's competition in the student-athlete's respective sport.

Basco and Greenwood were selected for the second straight year. 

Macdonald placed fifth in the solo at the MPSF Championship on February 15-16 and was also sixth in the A figures. The Public Health major and Goldfinger combined for a seventh-place effort in the duet. Goldfinger finished ninth in the solo at the National Collegiate Championship on March 28-29. Macdonald placed 10th in solo at the National Collegiate Championship and the pair turned in an eighth-place effort in the duet. Macdonald won the East Regional title in the solo and combined with the Economics major to take the duet crown at the regional competition. Goldfinger placed second in the solo and won the B figures at the regional.

Basco finished second in the C figures at th MPSF title meet and, along with Lowrie, helped Wheaton place seventh in the trio competition. Basco, a Neuroscience major, finished seventh in the C figures at nationals and won the competition at the East Regional. Greenwood, a Business and Management major, contributed to an eighth-place showing in the trio at the MPSF Championship and was third in C figures. She placed second in C figures at the East Regional and was eighth at the National Collegiate Championship. Lowrie, a Biology, Public Health and Psychology major, was fifth in the C figures at the regional meet, before finishing 11th at nationals. 

The Lyons placed fourth at the MPSF Championship and finished fifth as a team at the National Collegiate Championship.
