MEDFORD, Mass. — Junior Michaina Loriston (Boston, Mass.) won the 60-meter dash with a school-record time to lead the Wheaton College (Mass.) women's track & field team today at the Tufts National Qualifying Meet at Gantcher Family Sports and Convocation Center on the campus of host Tufts University in Medford, Mass.
Loriston broke the former 60-meter mark of 7.64, set by Meg Walker '22 at the Pre-Post Invitational hosted by Wheaton on February 19, 2022, twice during the day. She registered a mark of 7.58 in the morning preliminaries for the Lyons, before further shattering the school standard with a time of 7.53 to win the race. The clip also stands as the fourth-fastest mark in NCAA Division III this season and qualifies her for the NCAA Division III Indoor Championship.
Classmate Anika Wagner (Elmore, Vt.) recorded a toss of 16.22 meters to place second in the weight throw for Wheaton.
Loriston will compete at the NCAA Division III Indoor Championship on March 14-15 at Golisano Training Center in Rochester, NY.
