MARLBOROUGH, Mass. — Wheaton College (Mass.) women's cross country runners Maggie Cizmar (Plymouth, Mass.), Niyati Hotha (South Brunswick, N.J.), Abby Martin (Keene, N.H.), Annabelle Sanders (Miami, Fla.) and Chloe Vescio (Douglas, Mass.) were named to the New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference Academic All-Conference squad, it was announced by the league.
Honorees must have met the following criteria: earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 scale or 4.35/5.0 scale after the 2025 spring semester, achieved second year academic status at their institution, and been a member of the varsity team for the entire season.
The Lyons' total marks the seventh time they have had five or more Academic All-Conference honorees in program history.
Sanders is a repeat honoree for Wheaton, while Cizmar, Hotha and Vescio earn the honor in their first respective years of eligibility. Martin is chosen for the first time as well.
Sanders is a junior Chemistry major. The Ransom Everglades High School graduate established personal-best times in both the Suffolk Short Course Classic on August 30 and the Shawn M. Nassaney Invitational on September 6 to begin the season and placed 135th at the NEWMAC Championship on November 1. Martin is a senior Neuroscience major. The Keene High School product returned to the path after taking last year off to study abroad and responded with a personal-record time of 25:47 at the NCAA East Region Championship on November 8. She also finished 84th at the NEWMAC Championship.
Cizmar is a sophomore Psychology major. The Plymouth North High School grad posted personal-record times throughout the season, including a best mark of 26:21.1 at the NCAA Regional Championship. Hotha is a sophomore with a double major in Chemistry and Neuroscience. The Littleton (Mass.) High School graduate registered a personal-best time of 26:41.9 at the Connecticut College Invitational on October 18, before placing 109th at the NEWMAC Championship to close out her season. Vescio is a sophomore Elementary Education and English major. The graduate of Blackstone Valley Regional Vocational Technical High School overcame injury to start the campaign and managed a 46th-place showing at the NEWMAC Championship, while finishing 87th at the New England Regional Championship.
The Lyons placed sixth at the NEWMAC Championship for their highest finish in the conference title meet since 2017. Wheaton finished 14th as a team at the NCAA East Region Championship as well.
