HOPKINTON, N.H. – Senior Jaz Vanderhoof (Portland, Maine) turned in a personal-record time to place 71st overall and 12th among Division III runners to lead the Wheaton College (Mass.) women's cross country team this afternoon at the 2025 New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association Cross Country Championship hosted at the Hopkinton Fairgrounds in Hopkinton, N.H.

The Lyons tallied 600 points to place 20th overall and third among Division III squads in the five-kilometer race that featured schools from Division I, II and III.

Providence College scored 67 points to take the team title and Providence senior Níamh O'Mahony (Kerry, Ireland) won the individual crown with a time of 17:08.18, while Bowdoin College sophomore Angelina Hickey (Tempe, Ariz.) was the top Division III finisher with a mark of 18:21.84 to lead Bowdoin to a ninth-place team finish and first among D3 schools with a score of 222 points.

Vanderhoof shaved eight seconds off her personal-best effort for Wheaton with a time of 19:11.32. Sophomore Abby Wozniak (Blackstone, Mass.) obliterated her previous personal-record time by two minutes and 17 seconds with a time of 19:42.90 to place 123rd overall and 24th among Division III runners. Classmate Chloe Vescio (Douglas, Mass.) clocked in at 20:44.01 to finish 193rd overall, while senior Abby Martin (Keene, N.H.) crossed the finish at 22:05.62 to place 242nd. 

Sophomore Maggie Cizmar (Plymouth, Mass.) became the third Lyon to record a personal-best mark for the day, turning in a mark of 22:09.28 to place 244th and first year Norah McLeod (Arundel, Maine) posted a time of 23:17.86 to finish 265th overall.

Wheaton returns to the path on Saturday, October 18 when it heads to Waterford, Conn. to compete in the Connecticut College XC Invitational at Harkness Park at 10:00 a.m.
