White Leads Men's Outdoor Track & Field on Day One of Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- Sophomore Noah White (Winchester, Mass.) placed fourth in the 10,000 meters to lead the Wheaton College men's outdoor track & field team on the first day of the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium this afternoon in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

White turned in a time of 32.42.13 in his first-ever 10,000-meter race at the collegiate level. His efforts gave the Lyons five points in the meet scoring to put them in eighth place. Duke University leads the meet with 18 points. 

Senior Kyle Monfredo (Worcester, Mass.) and sophomore Joseph Moses (Cincinatti, Ohio) led in the field events for Wheaton, competing in the hammer throw. Monfredo registered a personal-best distance of 40.82 meters, while Moses matched him with the same distance to have them tie for 21st overall.

The Lyons return to action for day two tomorrow at 12:00 p.m. in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
