NORTON, Mass. -- The Wheaton College (Mass.) men's tennis team featured four double-winners, including both seniors who were honored prior to the match on Senior Day, in a 9-0 victory this afternoon over visiting Springfield College in a New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference dual match on the Clark Tennis Courts on the Wheaton campus in Norton, Mass. The Lyons improve to 4-10 overall and 2-3 in league play, while the Pride fall to 3-10 and 0-4.

Seniors Ian Tracy (San Jose, Costa Rica) and Albert Ortega Campos (Malaga, Spain) each earned wins in both singles and doubles play. Tracy dropped just two games in a 6-0, 6-2 win at number one singles over Springfield first year Waseem Sablon (Stoughton, Mass.), while Ortega Campos fashioned a straight set win at third singles by a count of 6-4, 6-2 over first year Zachary Taub (New Windsor, N.Y.).

Tracy paired with junior Josh Anshuetz (West Bloomfield, Mich.) for an 8-2 win at first doubles over Sablon and senior Fabian Jensen (Stavanger, Norway). Ortega Campos combined with junior Jack Luyrink (Paxton, Mass.) to defeat Taub and first year Jiahe Ye (Beijing, China), 8-4, at second doubles.

Anshuetz turned in a 6-4, 6-2 triumph at number two singles for Wheaton over sophomore Sichen Ni (Hefei, Anhui, China). Junior Ethan Na (Weatogue, Conn.) was the fourth Lyon to earn a pair of wins on the day. He battled to a three-set decision over Ye at fourth singles, winning the first set, 6-2, before yielding the second frame, 6-4. Na won the third-set in tie-breaker format, 10-5. He also joined sophomore Elijah Hanlon (Branford, Conn.) in a convincing 8-0 win at third doubles over senior James Foley (Fair Haven, N.J.) and Ni.

First year Daniel Bor (Seattle, Wash.) cruised at sixth singles with a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Pride first year Micah Matsudaira (Cornwell, Conn.), while Lyon classmate Karl von Weissenbeck (Winchester, Mass.) grinded out a three-set marathon win at number five singles over senior Lucas Van Deventer (Ellington, Conn.), winning the opening set, 7-6 (1) and the final frame, 10-8. Van Deventer took the middle set, 7-5.
