Men's Tennis Drops to MIT

NORTON, Mass. - The Wheaton College men's tennis fell, 9-0, against the MIT Engineers in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) match on Wednesday, hosted at the Clark Tennis Courts.

Senior Alden Zeff and first-year Jorge Aguirre Martinez opened action in the No. 1 spot, falling 8-1 as No. 2 sophomore Jeremiah Ryser and first-year Zach Strempel and No. 3 first-year Ned Roosevelt and first-year Diego Garcia Anton both dropped 8-2 decisions.

The Engineers carried their momentum into singles play, sweeping the Lyons with a 6-3, 6-0 final at No. 1; 6-1, 6-4 at No. 2 and 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3.

Wheaton travels to Springfield College on Saturday for another NEWMAC competition slated to begin at 1 p.m.
