NORTON, Mass. - The Wheaton College men's tennis team hosted their home opener on Saturday against Stonehill College, but fell, 6-3, in Beard Fieldhouse.
Sophomore Jeremiah Ryser and first-year Zach Strempel tabbed the lone win for the Lyons in doubles when they secured an 8-1 final score.
Ryser also defeated Stonehill in the singles round where he posted a 6-7(2), 6-4, 6-3 final to get Wheaton on the board. Senior Alden Zeff would tally the final victory for the Lyons with his 7-5, 6-4 final score to give Wheaton their last point.
The Lyons host UMass-Dartmouth on Sunday with match time set for 4 p.m.
