BRISTOL, R.I. – The Wheaton College men's lacrosse team fell 13-5 against the Roger Williams University Hawks on Saturday afternoon. The loss drops the Lyons to 2-3 on the season, while the Hawks improve to 3-3.

It was the fourth quarter that did it in for the Lyons as Roger Williams pushed ahead with seven unanswered goals for the eight-goal win.

First-year Matt Morgan had tied things up in the first quarter for Wheaton, unassisted at 11:06, but the Hawks would respond with three goals over the remainder of the period to take a 4-1 lead into the second quarter. The Lyons held the Hawks to only one goal in the second quarter before entering halftime.

Entering the third quarter, Wheaton's offense would spark with two goals from junior Kyle Neale and sophomore Zachary Brode within the first four minutes. Roger Williams would respond with a goal of their own, but junior Will Morrison and first-year CJ Leighton would put the Lyons within one goal to tie it.

But the final quarter was all Roger Williams needed, as the Hawks put up their seven goals to put the game out of reach for Wheaton.

Senior goalkeeper Ryan Clair collected 15 saves in the loss and moves to 2-3 in the net.

Wheaton hosts Gordon College on Wednesday at Nordin Field with game time set for 4 p.m.
