SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – Wheaton College (Mass.) men's lacrosse players Emmett Edwards (Sunderland, Vt.), Charlie Goodrich (Fairfield, Conn.), John Schulz (West Hartford, Conn.) and Jack Walter (Bradley Beach, N.J.) were named to the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association All-Academic Team, it was announced by the NEILA.

Members of the teams are nominated by Head Coaches in Divisions I, II and II, and are comprised of student-athletes, who have excelled both in the classroom and on the field over the course of their men's lacrosse career. Nominees must have senior or graduate student standing, a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale, and be an impact player for their team.

Edwards was one of the most prolific scorers in the New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference with 2.92 goals per game to give him 38 markers in 13 contests. The senior Business major added 11 assists, 21 ground balls and six caused turnovers.

Goodrich started all 15 games and tallied 18 assists in addition to scoring 27 times for 45 points. The senior Anthropology major was also third on the team with 29 ground balls. 

Schulz also received the starting nod in all 15 matches for the Lyons. The senior Business and Management major picked up 12 ground balls and tied for fourth on the team with seven caused turnovers. 

Walter was a starter in all 13 games that he appeared in for Wheaton. The senior Education major tied for second on the squad with eight caused turnovers and added 16 ground balls.

The Lyons concluded the season with a 9-6 overall record, including 2-5 in NEWMAC play.
