MARLBOROUGH, Mass. – Eight Wheaton College (Mass.) men's lacrosse players were named to the New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference Men's Lacrosse Academic All-Conference team, it was announced by the league.
Chris Bodnaruk (Andover, Mass.), Evan Borchert (Littleton, Colo.), Declan Cavanaugh (Maplewood, N.J.), Connor Davine (Taunton, Mass.), Zac DiLauri (Parsippany, N.J.), Lucas Mehlhorn (South Portland, Maine), sophomore Haden Pelletier (Gorham, Maine) and Zach Wyborney (Amherst, N.H.).
Honorees must have met the following criteria: earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 scale or 4.35/5.0 scale after the 2025 fall semester, achieved second year academic status at their institution, and been a member of the varsity team for the entire season.
The eight Lyons honored mark the highest number of Academic All-Conference selections since a school-record total of 11 in 2021.
Bodnaruk, Borchert, Davine and Mehlorn were named to the squad last year as well.
Bodnaruk served as Wheaton's primary face-off specialist, winning 135 of 279 draws to post a 48.4% success rate. The junior Nursing major ranked second on the team with 45 ground balls. Borchert enjoyed a breakout season in his first campaign as the Lyons' starting goalkeeper. The junior Accounting major earned Second Team All-Conference accolades and ranked second in the conference and 12th in the nation with a 60.1% save percentage. Davine saw time in nine contests for Wheaton. The junior Business Finance major netted a goal and picked up six ground balls. Mehlhorn got the starting nod in 10 of 13 matches and tallied 12 points with eight goals and four assists. The junior Business and Management major scooped up 17 ground balls and caused three turnovers.
Cavanaugh started three of 15 games for the Lyons. The sophomore Political Science major came up with 10 ground balls and caused a pair of turnovers. DiLauri showed the ability to score for Wheaton, netting nine markers to go with 10 assists. The sophomore Business Finance major started six of 11 contests and added six ground balls. Pelletier played in all 15 games for the Lyons. The sophomore Business major found the back of the net for his first collegiate goal and caused four turnovers in his second season for Wheaton. Wyborney saw time in 11 matches for the Lyons. The sophomore Business Management major picked up 11 ground balls and notched his first collegiate assist.
Wheaton concluded the season with a 9-6 overall record, including 2-5 in NEWMAC play.
