Chan earns two wins on the afternoon
NORTON, Mass. – The Wheaton College men's tennis team dropped a 5-4 decision to Colby-Sawyer College on Saturday afternoon in non-conference action at the Clark Tennis Courts.
Junior Lawrence Chan (Lincoln, R.I./Wheeler School) highlighted Wheaton's efforts on the afternoon as he teamed up with freshman Alden Zeff (Stratham, N.H./St. Stephen's Episcopal School) for a 9-8 win at No. 3 doubles and also turned in a 4-6, 6-3, 6-1 victory at No. 6 singles.
Sophomore Shreve Archer (Pebble Beach, Calif./Stevenson School) picked up a 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 3 singles in his first career appearance at the position, while senior Sam Jackson (Darien, Conn./Darien) also claimed a 6-2, 6-2 triumph at No. 4 singles to round out the list of winners for the Lyons.
Wheaton (8-5) returns to action tomorrow afternoon on the road against Oneonta State at 1 p.m. Colby-Sawyer (9-8) hosts MCLA on Sunday at 11 a.m.
