MARLBOROUGH, Mass. — Wheaton College (Mass.) men's tennis players Paul Berteaux (Courbevoie, France), Jack Thain (Aberdeen, Scotland) and Calvin Van Dyke (Albuquerque, N.M.) were named to the New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Academic All-Conference team, it was announced by the league.

Honorees must have met the following criteria: earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 scale or 4.35/5.0 scale after the 2024 fall semester, achieved second year academic status at their institution, and been a member of the varsity team for the entire season.

All three Lyons are in their first year of eligibility for the honor.

Berteaux is a sophomore Business and Economics double major for Wheaton. A graduate of Lycée Jean-Pierre Vernant, Berteaux saw all of his singles action at number two for the Lyons and posted a 3-12 mark. He won both of his final two decisions, needing just two sets to win at Salve Regina University on April 11 and against United States Coast Guard Academy on April 19.

Thain is a sophomore Biochemistry major. A product of The Woodlands High School in Texas, Thain posted a 3-3 singles record, including 3-1 at number six and was 2-1 in doubles play, while owning a perfect 2-0 mark in conference action for Wheaton.

Van Dyke is a sophomore Biology major. The La Cueva High School graduate was 5-10 in singles play for the Lyons and put together a 3-1 record at fifth singles. He was 4-11 in doubles play, primarily at number two. 

Wheaton was 4-11 overall for the season, including 3-4 in NEWMAC play.
