SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Sophomore Logan Quinn (Portsmouth, R.I.) posted a personal-record toss in the discus to lead the Wheaton College (Mass.) men's track & field team this morning in the first day of the Black & Gold Invitational hosted by Bryant University at the Track and Turf Complex in Smithfield, R.I.
Quinn recorded a throw of 28.17 meters to place 34th in the discus, while Lyon first year Kieran Templeton (Glens Falls, N.Y.) made his outdoor collegiate debut by finishing 36th with a mark of 25.99 meters in the event.
Quinn placed 35th in the hammer throw with a toss of 36.94 meters and Templeton was 41st with a distance of 22.33 meters.
Wheaton returns to Smithfield tomorrow for the second day of competition at the Black & Gold Invitational.
