BOSTON, Mass. -- Sophomore Logan Quinn (Portsmouth, R.I.) placed first in the weight throw to lead the Wheaton College (Mass.) men's track & field team today at The Showdown at the Heights Endurance Challenge hosted by Boston College at The Track at New Balance in Boston, Mass., featuring NCAA Division I, II and III competitors as well as unattached competitors.
Quinn recorded a heave of 12.43 meters in the event. First year Kieran Templeton (Glens Falls, N.Y.) turned in a personal-best mark of 10.54 meters for the Lyons in the weight throw for the 10th-best heave in school history.
Junior Kai Hillier (Hinesburg, Vt.) clocked in at 4:22.20 to finish ninth in the mile for Wheaton, while first year Finn Morris (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) was 32nd with a time of 4:55.54. Junior Lucas MacKenzie (Saint Albans, Vt.) placed 33rd with a mark of 4:59.08 and classmate Parker Fullem (Wantage, N.J.) posted a time of 5:16.68 to place 35th.
Senior Noah White (Winchester, Mass.) was outstanding for the Lyons with a time of 8:51.86 to represent the third-fastest time in program history in the 3000 meters. He finished 24th, while junior Nick Lacroix (Bedford, N.H.) was 33rd with a personal-best mark of 9:08.84. First year Nathan Pires (Yarmouth, Maine) also established a personal-record effort in the race with a time of 9:16.46.
First year Dan McIntyre (Keene, N.H.) led Wheaton in the 800 meters, placing 26th with a time of 2:09.72.
The Lyons return to action on February 15 when they return to Boston to compete in the Valentine Invitational hosted by Boston University.
