BOSTON, Mass. — Senior Jordan Pinnix (Manchester, Conn.) broke the school record in the 60-meter hurdles for the second time in three weeks to place third and qualify for tomorrow's finals on the first day of the New England Division III Indoor Regional Championship today at The Track at New Balance in Boston, Mass.
Pinnix turned in a time of 8.22 in the preliminaries for the Lyons to eclipse his own mark of 8.25, set just two weeks ago at Boston University. First year Gavin Landry (Westbrook, Maine) posted a mark of 8.67 to place 15th in the event.
Wheaton senior Kelvin Peterson (Eliot, Maine) registered a time of 6.980 to finish ninth in the 60-meter dash, just missing a spot in tomorrow's final heat, while first year Gael Vera (Westminster, Mass.) clocked in a 7.055 to finish 20th.
The Lyons capped the day with a 23rd-place finish in the 4000-meter distance medley relay. Juniors Nick Lacroix (Bedford, N.H.) and Aris Giatrakos (Stoughton, Mass.), first year Dan McIntyre (Keene, N.H.) and senior Noah White (Winchester, Mass.) combined on a season-best time of 11:02.16.
Wheaton returns to the track and field tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. in Boston.
