MEDFORD, Mass. – The Wheaton College (Mass.) men's track & field team competed at the Tufts Stampede Open today at the Gantcher Family Sports and Convocation Center in Medford, Mass.
Junior Nick Lacroix (Bedford, N.H.) led the Lyons with a personal-record time of 4:37.19 to place ninth in the mile, while first year Nathan Pires (Yarmouth, Maine) placed 16th in the race with a personal-best time of his own at 4:45.12 for a 16th-place effort. First year Finn Morris (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) clocked in at 4:56.90 to place 27th and junior Lucas MacKenzie (Saint Albans, Vt.) was right behind with a personal-record time of 4:57.85 to finish 28th.
Wheaton senior Noah White (Winchester, Mass.) finished 13th in the 3000 meters on a time of 9:08.17.
First year Scott Sloan (Barrington, R.I.) posted a heave of 12.61 meters to take 17th place in the shot put for the Lyons, while junior Griffen Copp (Littleton, Mass.) recorded a personal-best push of 12.30 meters in the shot put to finish 21st.
Sophomore Logan Quinn (Portsmouth, R.I.) led Wheaton in the weight throw with a toss of 12.00 meters to finish 21st and first year Kieran Templeton (Glens Falls, N.Y.) turned in the 10th-best toss in school history in the event with a mark of 10.77 meters to finish 25th.
The Lyons return to the track on Saturday, February 22 when they return home to host the Post-Season Qualifier at Beard Field House.
