WESTWOOD, Mass. — A school-record total of 10 Wheaton College (Mass.) women's soccer players were named to the New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference Academic All-Conference squad, it was announced by the league. Patricia Bandrup (Poway, Calif.), Natalie Coughlin (Philadelphia, Pa.), Lauren DiTullio (Hanover, Mass.), Allison Kramer (Irvine, Calif.), Mackenna Reynolds (Longmeadow, Mass.), Ali Roche (Maynard, Mass.), Julia Sternat (Ellington, Conn.), Maya Thomas (Goffstown, N.H.), Arden Ulmer (Henniker, N.H.) and Mia Wolfgang (Holliston, Mass.) were all chosen.
Honorees must have met the following criteria: earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 scale or 4.35/5.0 scale after the 2024 spring semester, achieved second year academic status at their institution, and been a member of the varsity team for the entire season.
Wheaton boasts 34 honorees over the past four years, including seven in 2021, eight in 2022 and nine in 2023.
DiTullio is named for the third straight year. The senior Neuroscience and Business major was finally injury-free and responded by starting all 18 matches that she appeared in, while netting her first collegiate goal for the Lyons.
Bandrup, Coughlin, Roche, Sternat, Ulmer and Wolfgang all earn the honor for the second time.
Bandrup is a junior Economics and Italian major and was named First Team All-Conference as one of the best keepers in the nation. She ranked 21st in the country with an .879 save percentage and stopped 123 shots to place 41st in NCAA Division III. Coughlin started 15 of 18 matches in the midfield. The senior Visual Arts major netted one goal on the season. Roche tallied six goals to lead Wheaton and rank ninth among NEWMAC leaders. The junior business major started 14 of 16 matches that she appeared in for Wheaton.
Sternat, a junior Business and Management major, was one of the best playmakers in the league, handing out five assists to place fifth among league leaders. Ulmer is a junior Chemistry major and battled injury throughout the season, but still managed to compete in a pair of contests for the Lyons. Wolfgang drew starts in 16 of 20 matches for Wheaton. The junior Secondary Education and English double major was a major contributor in the backfield.
Reynolds and Thomas are each tabbed in their respective first year of eligibility for the team, while Kramer gets the nod for the first time as well. Kramer established herself as a mainstay in the starting lineup for the Lyons, earning starts in 16 of 20 contests. The senior Finance and International Relations double major also notched an assist for Wheaton. Reynolds started 16 of 20 matches for the Lyons. The sophomore Psychology major tallied seven points on a goal and five assists. Thomas was one of the best defenders in the region and was named Second Team All-Conference for the Lyons. A sophomore Biochemistry major, she was one of three players on the team, along with Bandrup and Sternat, to start all 20 games for Wheaton.
The Lyons finished the season with an 8-5-7 mark, including 4-2-5 in conference play to garner 17 points to secure the number five seed in the NEWMAC Championship Tournament. Wheaton bowed to Babson, 3-1, in the NEWMAC Tournament. Wheaton's .575 winning percentage was its highest since 2018.
