HOPKINTON, N.H. — The Wheaton College (Mass.) men's cross country team placed 22nd as a team this afternoon at the NCAA Division III East Regional Championship hosted by Suffolk University at Hopkinton Fairgrounds in Hopkinton, N.H.
The Lyons totaled 626 points to conclude their season.
Massachusetts Institute of Technology topped the field with 43 points and boasted three of the top 10 individual runners to contribute to the team crown. Fifth-year senior Jake Velazquez (Keene, N.H.) registered a time of 24:35.22 to earn the individual title for his home town Keene State College Owls.
Junior Kai Hillier (Hinesburg, Vt.) led Wheaton with a time of 26:37.27 to finish 55th overall.
First year Nathan Pires (Yarmouth, Maine) shaved eight ticks off his personal-record time and placed 123rd with a mark of 28:28.55. Junior Parker Fullem (Wantage, N.J.) was not far behind at 29:01.21 to finish 135th for the Lyons.

Finn Morris (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) posted a time of 29:48.87 to produce a 151st-place showing and classmate
Dan McIntyre (Keene, N.H.) finished 172nd with a time of 30:41.95.
