DARTMOUTH, Mass. – Wheaton College (Mass.) senior Kai Hillier (Hinesburg, V.T.) placed 85th overall to lead the men's cross country team at this morning's 52nd Annual UMass Dartmouth Invitational at the Robert Dowd Cross Country Course hosted at the UMD campus in Dartmouth, Mass.

The Lyons tallied 670 points to finish 22nd in the varsity eight-kilometer race amongst 32 teams, with Boston University taking first place with a total of 60 points, having captured the third, sixth, and eighth spots by their top three runners. The individual title was won by College of the Holy Cross senior Liam Lyons (Worcester, Mass.) with a time of 24:07.69.

Hillier clocked in at 26:34.19, followed by classmate Nick Lacroix (Bedford, N.H.) with a 26:43.24 clip, a personal record that earned him 95th place. Placing 180th, sophomore Dan McIntyre (Keene, N.H.) set yet another personal record of 28:29.05, with senior Parker Fullem (Wantage, N.J.) following up in 190th place with a time of 28:41.74. First year Thomas Sargent (Bow, N.H.) placed 200th with a time of 29:00.13 in his 8k debut to round out Wheaton's team scoring. 

Sophomore Finn Morris (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) was right behind Sargent, finishing at  29:01.68 for 202nd, while first year Will Doyle (Milton, Mass.) finished up for the varsity Lyons in 29:29.65 for 215th place.

In the junior varsity race, first year Jack Kittredge (Broad Brook, Conn.) led the Wheaton trio in a time of 29:44.02 for 100th place, with classmate Kayden Chhoun (Wilbraham, Mass.) seconds behind him with 29:52.99 for 101st place. Senior Lucas MacKenzie (Saint Albans, Vt.) finished it up for the team in 30:00.17 for 104th place.

The Lyons will continue the cross country season on Saturday, October 4, at 11:00 a.m. when they travel to Keene, N.H. to compete in the Keene State Invitational.
