Box Score WASHINGTON, Pa. — The Wheaton College (Mass.) men's water polo team fell to host Washington & Jefferson College, 19-12, this afternoon in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation match at Henry Memorial Natatorium in Washington, Pa.
The Lyons slip to 0-8 overall and 0-2 in MPSF play, while the Presidents improve to 2-4 and 1-0.
First year 2-meter Michael Ruemelin (Chicago, Ill.) led Wheaton with a career-high six goals to go with a steal, while classmate Spyros Rapsmanikis (Kerkyra, Greece) scored twice and assisted on two goals in addition to picking up seven steals. First year 2-meter defender Jack Ruggiero (Hamden, Conn.) netted a pair of markers and came up with two steals, while first year 2-meter defender Josh Vander Wagen (Brookfield, Ill.) scored a goal, handed out two assists and registered a pair of steals. First year attacker Tristan Harrington (Mason, Ohio) also contributed with a goal and an assist. First year goalie Dylan Boccali (Ventura, Calif.) turned away 11 shots for the Lyons.
Wheaton returns to action tomorrow when it takes on Austin College at 8:00 a.m. in Washington, Pa, while W&J plays Austin at 11:00 a.m.
