ATTLEBORO, Mass. – The Wheaton College (Mass.) men's cross country team placed 11th this morning at the Suffolk Short Course Classic at the Mark Coogan Cross Country Course at Highland Park in Attleboro, Mass.
The Lyons scored 296 points. University of New Hampshire won the team title with 21 points, while Babson College topped all NCAA Division III schools with 85 points. Junior Nick Yacoub (Sharon, Mass.) captured the individual crown for Babson with a mark of 15:30.4.
Wheaton sophomore Jack Kittredge (Broad Brook, Conn.) posted a personal-record time of 17:31.7 to shatter his previous best by 1:41 and finish 61st overall. Junior Finn Morris (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) shaved 23 seconds off his best mark with a time of 17:42.1 to place 71st. Sophomore Nolan Bushnell (Rochester, Mass.) finished 76th for the Lyons with a personal-best mark of 17:45.7, while junior Dan McIntyre (Keene, N.H.) improved on his personal record by 12 ticks to clock in at 17:50.2 to place 80th.
First year Jasper Rogers (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) made his collegiate debut with a time of 17:58.8 to finish 91st and classmate David Aulisio (East Greenwich, R.I.) turned in a time of 18:15.7 to place 102nd. First year Benjamin Oliveira (Taunton, Mass.) clocked in at 18:53.9 to finish 130th to round out the scoring for Wheaton. Sophomore Kayden Chhoun (Wilbraham, Mass.) placed 159th with the fifth personal-record effort of the day for the Blue and White at 19:48.3. Sophomore Thomas Sargent (Bow, N.H.) crossed the line with a time of 21:20.9 to finish 185th.
The Lyons return to the path on Saturday, September 19 when they travel to North Dartmouth, Mass. to compete in the UMass Dartmouth Cross Country Invitational at 11:20 a.m.
