NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The Wheaton College (Mass.) men's cross country team placed 14th among Division III schools at the 53rd UMass Dartmouth Cross Country Invitational this morning in North Dartmouth, Mass.
Stonehill College won the team title in the eight-kilometer race with 35 points, while Brandeis University scored best among NCAA Division III schools with 200 points. College of the Holy Cross senior Joseph Mahon (Woburn, Mass.) placed first among individuals with a time of 24:09.69, while Brandeis University senior Hugh Licklider (Newton, Mass.) topped the Division III field with a mark of 25:04.77.
The Lyons tallied 733 points and was 27th overall.
Sophomore Jack Kittredge (Broad Brook, Conn.) shattered his previous best by two minutes and four seconds with a time of 27:40.46 to place 141st overall and 55th among Division III foes for Wheaton. Junior Dan McIntyre (Keene, N.H.) placed 156th overall and 65th with a time of 28:04.08, while sophomore Nolan Bushnell (Rochester, Mass.) was a step behind and turned in a personal-record mark of 28:04.09 to better his old effort by 74 seconds.
Junior Finn Morris (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) placed 160th/68th with a time of 28:06.34 for the Lyons and first year Jasper Rogers (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) posted a mark of 29:07.95 to finish 190th/91st. First year David Aulisio (East Greenwich, R.I.) rounded out Wheaton's scoring with a time of 29:17.43 to finish 194th/95th.
The Lyons will compete again on Saturday, October 3 when they travel to Keene, N.H. to run in the Keene State Invitational at 12:45 p.m.
