KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Wheaton College (Mass.) men's soccer team earned the United Soccer Coaches College Team Academic Award for the 2025-26 academic year it was announced by the organization. 

The award, initiated in the 1997-98 academic year, honors men's soccer teams that maintain a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher for the recently completed academic year.

The Lyons earned a GPA of 3.31 for the 2025-26 academic year and boasted 14 student-athletes with a 3.5 or better GPA. The Lyons earn the accolade for the fourth straight year from the United Soccer Coaches.

Wheaton finished the season with one of the greatest runs in school annals. The Lyons posted a 17-2-4 record to go with a No. 7 national ranking in the final United Soccer Coaches national poll. Wheaton's season came to an end in the NCAA Division III Quarterfinals with a 2-0 loss at No. 4 St. Olaf College, following three victories in the NCAA Tournament. The Lyons claimed the NEWMAC Regular Season crown with a 7-0-1 record and finished the regular season with an unbeaten mark for the first time in school history. Wheaton earned its 10th NCAA Tournament berth and hosted the first and second rounds in Norton. In addition, the Lyons were led by the NEWMAC Men's Soccer Coaching Staff of the Year.
