NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Wheaton College (Mass.) men's track and field team received All-Academic Team accolades, while sophomore Aidan Greenleaf (Topsham, Maine) was named an All-Academic Athlete by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, it was announced by the USTFCCCA.
Teams must meet the following criteria to be recognized by the USTFCCCA: A team must maintain a minimum 3.1 cumulative team grade point average on a 4.0 scale from the 2025-26 academic year through the most recent semester/quarter of all student-athletes who used a season of eligibility.
The Lyons posted a team GPA of 3.36 to earn All-Academic Team honors for the eighth straight year and 10th time in the last 11 seasons. Wheaton's GPA ranks it among the top 42.3% of all Division III programs.
Greenleaf becomes the first Lyon to be recognized since Matthew Cahill '23 in 2022 and the first Wheaton sophomore since Merzudin Ibric '10, who was tabbed in 2008 and also the subsequent two years after his sophomore campaign.
Here is the criteria to be named an All-Academic Athlete: A student-athlete must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale through the most recently completed grading period, while also meeting one of the following athletic criteria: They must have finished the season among the top 50 individuals as listed on the descending order lists on TFRRS. In addition, any athletes not among the top 50, but who participated at the Indoor or Outdoor National Championships, are eligible. Also, a student-athelete must have competed as a member of one of the top 35 relay teams as listed on the descending order list on TFRRS. In addition, any athletes not among the top 35 relay teams, but who participated in the relay at the Indoor or Outdoor National Championships, are eligible. Finally, any competing relay team member on an expanded descending order list to include 35 institutions (1 relay team per institution) is eligible.
Greenleaf is a Biology major and finished the season with the 14th-fastest time in the 400 meters in the East Region with a mark of 49.73 at the New England Division III Championship on May 1. The second-year standout was also a member of the Blue and White's 4X100-meter relay team that posted the fourth-fastest time and the 4X400-meter relay, which recorded the fifth-fastest mark in the region.
The Lyons finished sixth at the NEWMAC Outdoor Championship and boasted six All-Region selections during the outdoor campaign.
