WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Sophomore Gavin Landry (Sebago, Maine) placed second in the 110-meter hurdles to lead the Wheaton College (Mass.) men's track & field team on the final day of the Farley Inter Regional Extravaganza at Lee Track on host Williams College's campus in Williamstown, Mass.
Landry posted a time of 14.94. First year Liam Reagan (Scarborough, Maine) finished 11th in the event's preliminaries with a mark of 16.13, while sophomore Joshua Wright (Gorham, Maine) placed 13th in the prelim with a time of 16.27 for the Lyons. Wright also finished 15th in the 400-meter hurdles with a personal-record time of 58.28, while Reagan was 17th with a personal-best mark of 59.20.
First year Tyler Lamonde (Swansea, Mass.), sophomore Aidan Greenleaf (Topsham, Maine), first year David Kadiri (Dracut, Mass.) and first year Josy Brown Wright (Sharon, Mass.) combined on a time of 41.57 to place fourth in the 4X100-meter relay for the Blue and White.
Junior Kevin Smith (Norfolk, Mass.) shattered his personal-record point total and improved on his own standing in program history at Wheaton with a score of 5529 points for the second-highest mark at Wheaton in the pentathlon to finish fourth in the meet. Smith posted a personal-record height of 3.00 meters to place third in the pole vault and registered a personal-best toss of 34.82 meters in the javelin throw to slot in at fourth. He turned in the fastest time among decathletes in the 110-meter hurdles with a clip of 15.81 to go with a time of 5:17.70 to place sixth in the 1500 meters. Smith was also fourth in the discus throw with a distance of 23.59 meters.
Sophomore Harrison Page (South Berwick, Maine) finished 13th in the 400 meters to lead the Lyons with a time of 50.14 and Vera was 16th in the preliminaries of the 100 meters with a clip of 11.18. Senior Kai Hillier (Hinesburg, Vt.) clocked in at 3:57.00 to place 18th in the 1500 meters, while first year Nolan Bushnell (Rochester, Mass.) finished 55th in the 800 meters with a time of 1:59.98.
Wheaton competes again on Wednesday, May 13 when it travels to Rock Island, Ill. to compete in the Augustana Twilight Qualifier.
