MARLBOROUGH, Mass. – A school-record 11 Wheaton College (Mass.) men's track & field members were named to the New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference Men's Outdoor Track & Field Academic All-Conference team, it was announced by the league.
Griffen Copp (Littleton, Mass.), Parker Fullem (Wantage, N.J.), Aidan Greenleaf (Topsham, Maine), Kai Hillier (Hinesburg, Vt.), Nick Lacroix (Bedford, N.H.), Lucas MacKenzie (Saint Albans, Vt.), Finn Morris (Cape Elizabeth, Maine), Nathan Pires (Yarmouth, Maine), Logan Quinn (Portsmouth, R.I.), Kevin Smith (Norfolk, Mass.) and Joshua Wright (Gorham, Maine) were named by the conference.
Honorees must have met the following criteria: earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 scale or 4.35/5.0 scale after the 2025 fall semester, achieved second year academic status at their institution, and been a member of the varsity team for the entire season.
Wheaton had 10 honorees last year and has seen at least five members chosen for the squad in each of the last five years.
Fullem, Hillier and Lacroix earned the honor for the third straight year, while Copp, MacKenzie, Quinn and Smith are all repeat selections.
Fullem competed in four different meets during the outdoor season. The senior Biology major placed 20th in the 800 meters for the Lyons at the NEWMAC Championship in New London, Conn. on April 24-25. Hillier was Wheaton's top runner in the 1500 meters, placing seventh in the event at the NEWMAC Championship. The senior Business and Management major turned in three top-seven finishes in the race during the season. Lacroix enjoyed a tremendous season that saw him break the school record for the 3000-meter steeplechase at the MIT Final Qualifier on May 14. The senior Mathematics major also placed sixth in the event at the NEWMAC Championship and seventh at the Division III New England Championship in Springfield, Mass. on May 2, in addition to setting personal-record times in the 1500 and 5000 meters during the season.
Copp was the Lyons' top competitor in the shot put, capping his season with a seventh-place effort at the NEWMAC Championship behind the third-best toss in program history. The senior Economics major also turned in a fourth-place effort in the discus throw at the Jerry Gravel Classic in Westfield, Mass. on April 11 for Wheaton. MacKenzie posted personal-record times in two different events in his final collegiate campaign for the Lyons. The senior Political Science major recorded a personal-best time in the 1500 meters at the Sean Collier Invitational and went on to place 19th in the race at the NEWMAC Championship. Quinn was one of the most dynamic throwers for Wheaton and highlighted his season with a sixth-place finish in the hammer throw at the NEWMAC Championship. The junior Mathematics and Finance major posted a personal-record distance in the event at the Jerry Gravel Classic en-route to a runner-up showing and turned in three top-10 efforts in the hammer during the season. Smith registered personal-record marks in four different events and closed out the season with a score of 5529 to place fourth in the decathlon at the Farley Inter Regional Extravaganza in Williamstown, Mass. and fall just 30 points shy of the school record on May 8-9. The junior Computer Science and Mathematics major was a US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Region choice and finished fifth with a personal-record time in the 100-meter hurdles at the NEWMAC Championship in addition to finishing eighth in the high jump at the title meet.
Greenleaf was also an All-Region performer and competed primarily in the 400 meters in addition to competing on both the 4X100 and 4X400-meter relay units for the Lyons. The sophomore Biology major registered a personal-record time in the 400 meters to place ninth at the Division III New England Championship and was part of Wheaton's first place entry in the 4X100 relay at the Emory Dooley Elite Meet in Atlanta, Ga. on April 4. Morris enjoyed a full indoor campaign, but the sophomore Finance major missed the outdoor season due to injury for the Lyons. Pires competed in Wheaton's opening season meet for outdoor and the sophomore Economics major placed 44th in the 1500 meters at the Jaylin Rainford Invitational. Wright was an integral part of Wheaton's hurdle group. The sophomore Economics major shattered his personal-record mark in the 110-meter hurdles to place sixth at the NEWMAC Championship and later closed out the season with a personal-record time in the 400-meter hurdles.
The Lyons finished sixth at the NEWMAC Outdoor Championship and boasted six All-Region selections during the outdoor campaign.
