Five Named to CSC Academic All-District® Men's At-Large Team

NORTON, Mass. – Wheaton College (Mass.) men's lacrosse players Evan Borchert (Littleton, Colo.) and Haden Pelletier (Gorham, Maine), men's volleyball player Jack Kenyon (Westerly, R.I.), men's fencer Phillip Nunnink (Kansas City, Mo.) and men's water polo player Josh Vander Wagen (Brookfield, Ill.) were named to the 2026 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Men's At-Large Team, it was announced by the CSC.

The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Men's At-Large teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes at-large honorees in five divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, NAIA, and the College Division.

To be eligible for consideration of this honor, nominated student-athletes must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and be at least a sophomore academically and athletically. Eligible fencing nominees must compete in four competitions or finish top-eight in their weapon at a conference championship meet. Eligible men's lacrosse and men's water polo nominees must compete in 90 percent of the institution's games played or must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's games. Eligible men's volleyball nominees must compete in 90 percent of the institution's matches played or must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's matches. Liberos, although not counted in stats as a starter, may be counted as such for nominating purposes. 

Borchert enjoyed a breakout season in his first campaign as the Lyons' starting goalkeeper. The junior Accounting major earned Second Team All-Conference accolades for the New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference and ranked second in the league and 12th in the nation with a 60.1% save percentage.

Kenyon played in a team-high 74 sets during the Lyons' inaugural season. The sophomore Finance and Accounting major finished the season with a school-record 218 kills, fueled by a .226 hitting percentage. 

Nunnink is a sophomore finance major, who earned All-America Honorable Mention accolades from the United States Fencing Coaches Association, in addition to being named the Northeast Fencing Conference Co-Fencer of the Year in foil.

Pelletier played in all 15 games for the Lyons. The sophomore Business major found the back of the net for his first collegiate goal and caused four turnovers in his second season for Wheaton. 

Vander Wagen saw action in all 21 games for the Lyons. The sophomore Biology major netted 11 goals to go with seven assists, while coming up with 12 steals.
