WELLESLEY, Mass. – Wheaton College (Mass.) men's fencers Nick Allario (Westerly, R.I.), Phillip Nunnink (Kansas City, Mo.), Charles Pedersen (Shoreham, N.Y.), Jonathan Quail (Scotia, N.Y.) and Solomon Taylor (Evanston, Ill.) were named to the Northeast Fencing Conference Men's Fencing Academic All-Conference team, it was announced by the league.
Honorees must have earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3/4.0 scale after the 2025 fall semester to be considered.
Nunnink is a repeat honoree for the Blue and White after being tabbed to last year's team.
Allario is undecided on his major at Wheaton and a first year. He competed in 78 bouts, primarily in the epee discipline. Nunnink is a sophomore finance major, who earned All-America Honorable Mention accolades from the United States Fencing Coaches Association, in addition to being named the Northeast Fencing Conference Co-Fencer of the Year in foil. Pederson is a first year History major, who compiled an 18-43 record in foil for the Lyons. He posted winning records in six matches during the season. Quail is a first year History major as well and put together a 21-68 mark in sabre competition for Wheaton. He recorded a winning record in six dual matches in his rookie campaign. Taylor is a first year Political Science major and registered a 17-38 record in foil bouts. He also boasted a winning record in six different matches for the Lyons.
Wheaton finished the season 2-27 in its second varsity campaign.
