NEW LONDON, Conn. — Junior Jaime Gálligo (Madrid, Spain) and first year Landon Wyshner (Winston Salem, N.C.) were each double-winners for the Wheaton College (Mass.) men's tennis team in a 5-2 loss to host Connecticut College this afternoon at Luce Field House in New London, Conn.

The Lyons fall to 2-2 on the season, while the Camels improve to 2-1.

Connecticut College won two of three doubles matches to earn the first point of the dual match. The Camels also won four of six singles.

Gálligo and Wyshner combined for a 7-6 win at number one doubles over junior Nikhil Agarwal (San Mateo, Calif.) and sophomore Wolf Sohlberg (Espoo, Finland).

Gálligo carried the momentum into singles play, defeating Sohlberg in three sets. Sohlberg opened the match with a 6-3 win, before Gálligo rebounded to soundly defeat his Camel foe, 6-2, 6-3, in the final two frames. Wyshner needed just two sets to gain victory at third singles, taking down fellow first year Edward Petersen (Cape Town, South Africa) at Conn., 6-4, 6-3.

Connecticut College earned the doubles point with wins at number two and three. Senior Sigmund Winiecki (Jaffrey, N.H.) and first year Noa Hoshino (Tokyo, Japan) combined for a 6-4 win over the Wheaton junior duo of Jake Murray (San Diego, Calif.) and Calvin Van Dyke (Albuquerque, N.M.) at second doubles. Sophomore Tucker Catalano (Duxbury, Mass.) teamed with first year Nikolai Kahrs (Oslo, Norway) to put together a 6-4 triumph at number three over the Lyons' Parisian duo of sophomore Paul Berteaux (Paris, France) and Pablo Munoz (Paris, France.)

Murray battled at sixth singles for Wheaton against Kahrs, taking him to the limit in the opening frame, before dropping the set, 7-5. Kahrs had an easier time of it in the second set, 6-1. Catalano dispatched of Van Dyke at fifth singles, 6-2, 6-2. Agarwal dropped just two games in a 6-2, 6-0 win over Munoz at second singles and Hoshino had success at fourth singles for the Camels with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Berteaux.
