BOSTON, Mass. — Sophomore Gavin Landry (Sebago, Maine) placed sixth in the 60-meter hurdles invite and senior Kai Hillier (Hinesburg, Vt.) posted the second-fastest mile time in school history to lead the Wheaton College (Mass.) men's track & field team today at the John Thomas Terrier Classic at the Boston University Track & Tennis Center in Boston, Mass.
Landry clocked in at 8.45 to record the fifth-fastest time in the 60-meter hurdles for a Lyon, while Hillier's mile time of 4:16.41 was good for an 11th-place finish among NCAA Division III runners and 102nd overall.
Wheaton senior Nick Lacroix (Bedford, N.H.) turned in a personal-record time of 4.31.89 to place 196th overall and 38th among DIII runners in the mile, while sophomore Dan McIntyre (Keene, N.H.) also registered a personal-best time of 4:36.77 in the mile to place 47th among Division III competition and 216th overall.
First year Nolan Bushnell (Rochester, Mass.) finished sixth against Division III competitors and 53rd overall for the Lyons with a time of 2:35.72 for fifth-best mark in school annals in the 1000 meters.
Wheaton's 4X400-meter relay team of sophomore Harrison Page (South Berwick, Maine), first year Tyler Lamonde (Swansea, Mass.), sophomore Aidan Greenleaf (Topsham, Maine) and first year Josy Wright (Sharon, Mass.) combined on a season-best time of 3:21.30 to place fourth among Division III squads and 17th overall.
Sophomore Gael Vera (Westminster, Mass.) finished 44th overall and 15th among DIII runners with a time of 22.40 in the 200 meters for the Lyons, while senior GJ Mualis (Taunton, Mass.) was 114th and 39th in the race with a mark of 23.40.
Senior Griffen Copp (Littleton, Mass.) led Wheaton's field contingent with a heave of 12.96 meters in the shot put to place 11th among Division III entries and 25th overall.
The Lyons will be in action again on Saturday, February 7 when they compete in the Wheaton Invitational at 10:00 a.m. in Beard Field House on the Wheaton campus.
