MARLBOROUGH, Mass. — Wheaton College (Mass.) baseball players, Tommy Beauregard (Salem, Mass.), Chris Carbonara (Brockton, Mass.), Josh Fischer (Hopkinton, Mass.), Jack Kelleher-Mochak (Northampton, Mass.), Joe Mulhern (Taunton, Mass.), Ray Toth (Granby, Mass.) and Casey Wensley (Raynham, Mass.) were named to the New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference Baseball Academic All-Conference team, it was announced by the league.
Honorees must have met the following criteria: earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 scale or 4.35/5.0 scale after the 2024 fall semester, achieved second year academic status at their institution, and been a member of the varsity team for the entire season.
The total of seven Lyons honored matches the program record established in 2022. Beauregard, Fischer and Mulhern all earn the honor for the third straight year, while Toth gets the nod for the second consecutive season.
Beauregard is a senior Business and Management major. The Salem High School product started 34 of 35 games he appeared in as the team's primary second baseman and batted .295 (38-129) with 28 runs scored, nine stolen bases, six doubles and 15 runs batted in. Fischer is a senior Business Finance Analytics major. A graduate of Hopkinton High School, the reliever ranked third in the nation with nine saves and posted a 4.15 earned run average, while striking out 27 against just six walks in 17 1/3 innings pitched. Mulhern is a senior Business major. The Taunton High School product appeared in 14 games out of the bullpen and allowed just a .205 (8-39) opponents batting average to go with a 3.00 ERA in 12 innings of work. Toth is a junior Business and Management major. The Granby Junior/Senior High School graduate started 37 of 38 games he appeared in, while batting .258 (32-124) with four home runs, 15 runs batted in and 18 runs scored.
Carbonara is a junior Physics major. The Brockton High School product made 11 appearances on the mound, including five starts, and struck out 29 in 28 1/3 innings pitched. Kelleher-Mochak is a junior Business and Management major. A graduate of Northampton High School, Kelleher-Mochak made seven appearances in relief and fanned seven hitters in four innings. Wensley is a sophomore Finance and Economics double major. The Bridgewater-Raynham High School graduate was named Second Team All-Region and Second Team All-Conference for Wheaton after ranking second in the league with a gaudy .395 (68-172) batting average as a result of a NEWMAC-best 68 hits.
Wheaton finished the season with a 22-19 record, including 9-7 in league play. The Lyons have never finished with fewer than 21 wins in a full season and have advanced to the double-elimination phase of the NEWMAC Championship Tournament in every season.
